New Paper out on the S.B. Basin Bacterial Mat

We have just published a new paper in Environmental Science and Technology that identifies an extensive bacterial mat along the seafloor in the Santa Barbara Basin. The discovery was made possible by an autonomous underwater vehicle armed with two high resolution cameras and has implications for nitrogen and sulfur cycles in the basin.
